Mesa College Work Experience Program
Work Experience courses allow students to earn college credit for internships. After attending a mandatory orientation with their instructor and completing the Program Application, students then complete a SMART Goals exercise which is used by the student and supervisor/mentor to create the Learning Agreement for the course. The instructor then visits the student's work site to review the agreement with both parties and answer any questions related to the course. Students will remain in email and telephone contact with their instructor during the semester, and will be responsible for written assignments as determined by the course syllabus. Students will maintain a timecard for all hours completed at the work site. Final evaluation of the student's work is done by the supervisor/mentor and the instructor.
For Fall Semester, 2011, only program-specific work experience courses will be offered. These courses are often associated with requirements for program certificates and/or Associate Degrees.
- Mandatory Orientations are held at the beginning of each session.
- For more information, see the FAQs.
Students must have a job or internship prior to attending mandatory Orientation
